Turkishisms in Meša Selimović’s “Dervish and Death”

Abstract

The paper intends to explain the use of Turkisms in the second part of the novel Dervish and the Death. Special attention was paid to orthographic problems of certain Turkisms that were or were not used in accordance with the Orthographic Manual of 1960. I tried to explain modes that Selimović used when introducing new Turkisms to show to which extent Turkisms adapted in our language.
