Mostar Sevdalinka With Local Characteristics

Abstract

This work deals with the description of Mostar area at the time when, under specific circumstances, sevdalinka was emerging and was fostered in this as well as in other cities and towns in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In a moving way, these lyric songs have preserved memories of some developments from love life of former inhabitants of Mostar. Thus the Mostarian sevdalinka, in a unique way, sings not only about some boys, girls or historical characters, but also about cultural-historical monuments from this area.
