Abstract
This work introduces a gyre as a recurring element in a novel Horuk by Hasan Kikić. This motif has metaphorical meaning in the novel. Through its repetition the motif of the gyre produces other aspects of the novel such as theme or mood. The motif of the gyre is seen through the postmodern concept of (de)construction. Also, this literary element, symbolizes a product of different litetary movements such as Modernism, Naturalism or Social Realism.
