The concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is gaining growing importance as a strategic tool for building a positive corporate image. This paper explores the role of management in the implementation of CSR, analyzing the ways in which social responsibility is integrated into managerial decisions and strategies, and how such an approach can contribute to creating a competitive advantage. Through the analysis of theoretical frameworks and practical implications, the paper demonstrates that companies actively incorporating CSR principles not only strengthen their corporate image but also contribute to creating a sustainable business environment and community stability. It is concluded that CSR represents a key element of modern strategic management, enabling the achievement of long-term value as well as financial performance.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/427Tripadvisor as a Modern Form of Communication In Tourism2026-04-19T09:32:21+00:00Zerina Čamoisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
The Internet has become a key medium through which the interested public gathers information about destinations, attractions, landmarks, hospitality establishments, and similar services. Receiving feedback and enabling twoway communication are among the greatest features of the Internet as a massconsumption medium. In tourism, feedback is reflected through reviews, comments, and photographs on online platforms specialized in the tourism sector. TripAdvisor is one of the most influential online platforms in tourism. The core content on TripAdvisor consists of reviews, through which users share their experiences regarding destinations, hospitality establishments, and other tourism-related entities. Reviews can have a positive, neutral, or negative tone.

This study consists of a review of theoretical analysis covering communication and online communication, the role of reviews and feedback, as well as an empirical research component that includes the presentation and analysis of ratings and reviews published on the TripAdvisor platform for several tourist locations in the City of Mostar.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/421The Topophilic Identity(s) of Namik Kabil’s Novel Isijavanje2026-04-19T08:57:19+00:00Lejla Žujo – Marićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
The aim of this paper is to read the novel Isijavanje through the aspect of topophilia. The analysis of these poems will display the representation of the epic heroes; the construction of their identities woven by heroism and battles, as well as in a family atmosphere, and disrupting heroic cultural code. During this analysis, it will become evident how the identities of these renowned Bosniak Krajina epic poets are torn apart between the battles and intimate space of chamber, tower and courtyard. They were major warriors in battles, but also the embodiment of emotionality in the private sphere of life, in relation to those weaker and more powerless ones. By interpreting these poems by the Bihać poet Mujo Velić, it will be shown how much the Bosniak Krajina epic painted the Bosnian Krajina man and the life of that time.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/423Postmodernist Elements in Atonement by Ian McEwan2026-04-19T09:08:03+00:00Dženeta Opardijaisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
This paper examines the multiple techniques of postmodernism in Ian McEwan’s 2001 novel. The paper presents a theoretical overview of postmodernist techniques and then analyzes their use in the novel itself. Among the most prominent postmodernist features of the text is its continued use of metafiction, through which McEwan questions the processes of storytelling. The novel also features historiographical metafiction, as historical events are constantly intertwined with fictional ones, that is, with narrative techniques that emphasize subjectivity and the impossibility of achieving a single, authoritative historical account of events. The intertextuality that McEwan also uses further reinforces these strategies. In addition, McEwan enriches the postmodernist aspect of the novel by introducing hybridity, juxtaposing different narrative forms, genres and perspectives. In this way, the reader’s interpretive experience is made further complex, because the tension between realistic representation and experimental narrative practice is brought to the fore. Together, these techniques lead the reader to question the nature of truth, authorship, and the stories through which individuals and entire societies construct meanings.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/412Bosnian Ayans in the Great Turkish War (1683-1699) - Confirmation and Denial of Authority2026-04-19T08:01:44+00:00Faruk Taslidžaisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
This paper examines the role and significance of the Bosnian ayans during the Great Turkish War (1683–1699), a period in which the Bosnian Eyalet, for the first time on a larger scale, became a military theatre—an area of devastation and suffering. The study highlights the social engagement and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the ayans, particularly during decisive moments of the conflict. Special attention is given to the petitions they addressed to the Ottoman capital, through which they reported on the deeply alarming situation in Bosnia and urgently requested military assistance in terms of manpower and material resources. Evidence suggests that some of these appeals yielded certain positive outcomes. Nevertheless, historical sources indicate that, at the time, the ayans across the Bosnian Eyalet were not always equal to the task. The paper also presents examples in which members of the urban elite neglected their duties and abused their authority. Such conduct-especially under wartime conditions-may be regarded as a betrayal of the interests of the Ottoman state, which, as was often the case, ultimately inflicted the greatest suffering upon the local population.
Grafiti sadrže kratke pobožne i emotivne formule, osobna imena i jedan zapis godine.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/414The Lost Archaeological Heritage of the Neretva Valley: Analysing Some of Basler’s Field Notes2026-04-19T08:18:06+00:00Azra Đelmoisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
In this paper, the focus is on the archaeological sites submerged by the Jablaničko Lake, specifically their valorization through archaeological surveying and research carried out by archaeologist Đuro Basler. His investigations produced important results and significantly influenced the formation of our understanding of the past of this area. Most of these sites are no longer accessible to archaeological and historical science, as they now lie beneath the soil and water of this artificial reservoir. Basler published a study on these sites and also left notes in his field diaries, which are today preserved among his legacy in the Franciscan Museum and Gallery in Široki Brijeg. Considering the fact that only a few sites in this region have been systematically researched, this paper treats his investigations as a historical source for understanding the past of this area.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/424Devastation of the Inner State as a Consequence of the End of Culture – A Sociological Discussion on Art2026-04-19T09:13:40+00:00Merima Jašarevićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
This work is based primarily on sociological, anthropological and aesthetic theoretical aspects of postmodernist culture. The focus of the work is on the critical consideration of culture as a senseless creation that indulged the most primitive forms of existence such as rigid individualism, narcissism, fatalistic love of materialism and money. The main value of postmodernism is certainly money, which as a result creates a new culture, a culture of absurdity and contradiction.

On the other hand, the work critically reflects on the role of art in postmodern sphere. Art becomes activist, subversive and extremely provocative! At least at the peak of postmodernism, works of art are treated as a vision of social tragedy - a speech about the truth. That in the end she herself would become what she mocked and criticized, which confirms the thesis that in postmodernism everything is artistic and that artistic does not even exist.

Finally, this paper takes for analysis the art installation from the 1960s by an almost intentionally forgotten American artist - Ed Kenholz, entitled State Hospital, which truly impressively gives its visual exposition of postmodern everyday life and reality.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/425Dialectic Thought of Alija Izetbegović: Axiological Fragments of the Book Islam Between East and West2026-04-19T09:19:24+00:00Muedib Šahinovićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
The paper explores some of the key axiological substrates on which Alija Izetbegović bases his philosophical thought in the book Islam between East and West. Content analysis detects key concepts on which the author dialectically creates his own theoretical framework, such as; freedom, justice, law, human, society, spirituality, materialism and religion. In this complex of ideas, special emphasis is placed on Islam, which is not just a religion but a comprehensive system of values that has the potential to synthesize and connect different extremes of the spiritual and material world in the polarized environment of contemporary humanity. In addition to dualism, as a basic characteristic of the author’s philosophical approach that runs through all chapters of the book, the research is also focused on Izetbegović’s specific methodology for arguing Islam as a “worldview” that symptomatically relies on European perspectives of science and development, emphasizing a living, active and progressive Islam that is not exclusive and conservative but applicable and inclusive in its effort to harmonize human, society, ideological blocs and antagonized extremes of human civilization. On these foundations, the paper points to an inspiring contingent of universal values within which the idea of “bipolar unity” is created as an authentic construct of Izetbegović’s dialectic in advocating the “third way”.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/415The Syntax of Grammatical Cases in the Speech of the Bosniaks of Albania2026-04-19T08:24:27+00:00Haris Ćatovićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
The syntax of grammatical cases is a highly important yet often insufficiently explored segment within dialectological studies, as dialectology has traditionally been regarded as a linguistic discipline primarily focused on the phonetic-phonological, morphological, and lexical features of speech. For the purposes of this paper, we examined and analyzed the typical functions and meanings of case forms in the speech of the Bosniaks of Albania, who left their native Herzegovina region more than 150 years ago and settled in the villages of Borak and Kodžas near Durres. This paper presents an analysis of the syntactic use of cases in the speech of the Bosniaks of Albania, which represents an enclave of the East Herzegovinian dialect, surrounded on all sides by the Albanian language. The aim of the paper is to describe the basic syntactic structure of the case system in this speech, highlighting its dialectal specificities as manifested in everyday usage. The documented state of this speech variety will be compared to the standard language, as well as to previous syntactic studies of case-related phenomena in Bosnian-Herzegovinian speech types, thus providing insight into the high degree of convergence between this diaspora variety and both the standard language and other Bosnian-Herzegovinian varieties. Consequently, this paper offers an overview of the functioning and meaning of cases used to express spatial, temporal, and other relations, as well as the potential for such meanings to be realized through various case or prepositional-case constructions.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/416Etymological Analysis of the Lexemes “Šubha” and “Šuhva” in the Bosnian Language – Two Words or One?2026-04-19T08:29:33+00:00Jasmin Hodžićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
Pairs of Bosnian Words of Oriental Origin: “Šubha” and “Šuhva” (as well as “Šupha,” “Šuvha,” and “Šuva”), and “Šuhveli” and “Šubheli” (including “Šupheli,” “Šuvheli,” and “Šuveli”), which express doubt, suspicion, dubiousness, intuition, unease, restlessness, and insecurity, are described in dictionaries of the standard language and in other linguistic literature as a single word due to their pronounced formal and semantic similarity, as well as their identical practical linguistic usage. The different variants of a single word are explained through the process of modification, that is, phonetic changes—assimilation, omission, or metathesis (the rearrangement of consonants). This paper, through additional etymological analysis and a comparison of the contextual meanings of the mentioned lexemes, questions the possibility that these may not be a single term but rather two distinct words of different origins, which, despite their differences, still exhibit overlapping semantic fields according to etymological analysis.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/417Etymology-Semantic and Pragmatic Analysis of Germanisms in Phraseology of the Bosnian Language2026-04-19T08:35:35+00:00Belma Polićisstrazivanja@unmo.baNihada Topovčićisstrazivanja@unmo.baEmina Horićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
Germanisms, as words originating from the German language, are components of Bosnian phraseology, i.e. components of idioms in the Bosnian language. This paper treats idioms of the Bosnian language that contain Germanisms from the aspect of etymology, semantics and pragmatics. These are examples such as: to pay a guild, to have a štela, to get a basket, to have a potato, to be unlucky, etc. The aim of the paper is to contribute to the understanding of language contacts between the Bosnian and German languages, and to provide insight into the process of assimilation of Germanisms within the phraseology of the Bosnian language. The research for the mentioned examples also seeks equivalents, if they exist, in the German language. The pragmatic part of the paper contributes to examining the frequency of use of the mentioned idioms in the Bosnian language, and to detecting the context in which the mentioned idioms appear.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/418From Sentence to Text: The Use of the Relativizer Kamā in Modern Standard Arabic Literary Style2026-04-19T08:44:47+00:00Elma Dizdarisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
The relativizer kamā, a compound consisting of Arabic preposition ka and the nominal relative pronoun mā, is a polyfunctional expression used very frequently in Modern Standard Arabic. Its description in the literature, however, remains incomplete, unsystematic and mostly morphologically motivated. The syntactic functions of the relativizer kamā are therein mentioned only rarely and sporadically, lacking a systematic analysis. Therefore, the main goal of this paper is the analysis of various syntactic functions that the relativizer kamā and clauses it introduces can take both within the structure of the main clause and outside its structure, at the text level. The analysis is based on the analyticaldescriptive method and the typological-functional approach. Its results show that clauses introduced by the relativizer kamā in Modern Standard Arabic cover a wide spectrum of syntactic functions, ranging from comparative clauses, both factual and hypothetical, via attributive, predicate and verb complement clauses, to the functions of sentence modifying adverbial and connector at the text level. In addition to providing a systematic description of the various functions of the relativizer kamā and constructions introduced by it, the analysis presented in the paper also draws attention to stylistic efficiency of such constructions and the important role they play in enriching the inventory of means of stylistic choice in Arabic.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/419The Impact of Online Gaming on English Language Acquisition in Primary School Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina2026-04-19T08:48:08+00:00Haris Delićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
This study examines the impact of exposure to English language (EL)- based games on Bosnian elementary school students’ knowledge and understanding of gaming acronyms. The research indicates that playing games in English generally enhances students’ familiarity with gaming acronyms, particularly in their original English forms. However, students exhibit less consistency in translating and comprehending these terms in Bosnian, suggesting potential areas for additional educational support. Gender dynamics are also explored, revealing that while both boys and girls engage extensively with EL-based games, boys show a slight advantage in recognizing and understanding gaming acronyms. These findings underscore the effectiveness of EL-based games in certain aspects of language learning while highlighting the need for further research and targeted educational interventions. The study advocates for a balanced approach to evaluating language learning through gaming, considering both the original English forms and their Bosnian translations to better support students’ language proficiency in diverse contexts.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJAhttps://www.istrazivanja.ba/index.php/istr/article/view/420The Śivasūtras: To What Extent Are They Crucial to Pānini’s Grammatical System?2026-04-19T08:53:08+00:00Zoran Zekovićisstrazivanja@unmo.ba
This paper sets out to examine and to determine the source of generativeness within Pāṇini’s grammatical system. Apart from a short study of the role played by the Śivasūtras, it also offers the full account of the so called “shortforms“ (or pratyāhāras). In contrast to many other scientific papers dealing with some similar topics, this paper provides sufficent granularity in that regard, because it includes the full list of the generated shortforms (or pratyāhāras) that are 305 in number. In addition to that, the pratyāhāras are divided into those which are operative (41) and those which are not (264) in this paper. Quite expectedly, the Śivasūtras have a twofold division as well. From a methodological viewpoint, the paper discloses some semiotic aspects. In particular, it highlights the semiotic character of the Sanskrit text known as Nandikeśakāśikā and its relation to the Śivasūtras.
2026-04-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 ISTRAŽIVANJA
